 1946 – Marianne Faithfull is born in London, the daughter of a British university lecturer and an Austrian baroness.
 1947 – Rock drummer Cozy Powell, who’s played with the Jeff Beck Group and Rainbow, is born.Fastest drummer in the world.
1953 – Badfinger drummer Mike Gibbons, one of the few surviving members of the band, is born.
 1962 – While in London, Bob Dylan performs at the Troubadour folk club.
 1966 – working at Abbey Road studios, London, The Beatles began work on the new Paul McCartney song ‘Penny Lane’.
1966 – The Jimi Hendrix Experience made their debut on the UK TV show ‘Top Of The Pops’ performing ‘Hey Joe’.

2000 – A federal appeals court rules that bassist Nicholas Kussbaum can continue to bill himself as a former member of Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf’s John Kay had invoked a 1980 contract in which Kussbaum agreed not to emphasize his ties with the band.
 2006 – The wife of rock singer Marilyn Manson, Burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese filed for divorce after just a year of marriage.
